War of the world

Ever since I saw a picture by Albrecht Adolf, “The Battle of Alexander,” I wanted to paint a picture with lots of detail. I recently saw it in the flesh in Munich and while peering too close at the wonderful brushwork, I caused the alarm to jingle. The German guards where very understanding... the first time.
