There's a wonderful scene in the film 'Castle Keep' where the character played by Peter Falk, a US army sergeant, throws away his carbine and turns his back on the madness surrounding him.

At that moment, he rediscovers what his real calling was and always had been, he was a baker. He took off with Uka, a Flemish baker’s widow, and baked bread as mayhem engulfed the civilised world.

I like to paint for no other reason than it’s what I enjoy doing.
