Awed by a picture by Albrecht Altdorfer; ‘The Battle of Alexander at Issus’. I wanted to paint a picture with lots of detail. I recently saw it in the flesh in Munich and while peering too close at the wonderful brushwork, I caused the alarm to jingle.
The German guards were very understanding...the first time.
